The role

We are looking for a hardworking Apprentice with excellent digital/flexo prepress and graphic design knowledge, who loves to take care of our customers design and print needs, excellent knowledge of Adobe Suite ( Illustrator, Photoshop), Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design (and/or print industry related) is an asset. Very responsible, organized, independent, honest and very good in time management, "At least ONE Year of experience in print/production or related to the industry is key, and must be willing to learn and improve. Will train on equipment and prepress softwares.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with image manipulation, color correction, file prep and troubleshooting
  • Accurately process customer supplied files for print production and retouch client’s file according to Work Order
  • Use and manipulate computer software in a prepress environment having to do with digital color control, page imposition, production queues, and output
  • Examine job orders to determine quantities to be printed, stock specifications, colors, or special printing instructions
  • Provide updates on the status of Work Orders
  • Work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Layout files as required per Work Order specifications
  • Check that all information regarding Work Order is correct before accepting job, perform Digital duties perfectly and check that all information is correct regarding Work Order before giving the job to the next stage of Production
  • Maintain a neat and safe working environment in the prepress department

Other Skills

  • Associate or BA degree in related field
  • 1+ years in related prepress field
  • Strong knowledge of file ripping software, media storage
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat
